Elena Dolman, MSSW Student Therapist

When life feels too heavy to bear and when hope for a better future seems like nothing more than a pipe dream—I long for you to find warmth, welcome and healing within our doors.

My therapeutic approach is strengths-based and client-led.  As a budding clinician, it is a joy to notice and encourage the very best in my clients and discover the inner resources they never knew they possessed—gifts we can capitalize on, together, to help resolve current life issues.

I believe in the power of presence and holding life’s hard things—and I also trust that you have had to hold these things by yourself for a long time.  What I hope to provide is insight and a change in direction for you, without compromising encouragement, emotional safety, and acceptance.  As a client, you will be asked to explore what you need out of therapy, so we can help you feel better after its completion (especially after you have devoted time and resources towards your growth).

Past adult clients have had issues concerning life transitions, stress, romantic disappointment, divorce, PTSD, mental health diagnoses, anxiety and depression.  I also have a passion for working with young children and experience working with individuals experiencing extreme poverty and homelessness.

Most frequently, I rely upon cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and solution-focused brief therapy to invite clients towards positive change.  Every day I learn more about attachment and trauma-informed practice.

It would be a real honor to get the chance to work together with you in this hard and hopeful work of healing!
